This initiative, with a transdisciplinary vision, seeks to identify and develop new approaches and strategies that promote better analytics and digital co-creation. Applications are open until July 3 and students, artists, researchers, AI engineers, scientists and other interested parties are eligible.

The FOUNDING LAB is the result of a partnership that aims to incorporate new strategies into the training and operation of a pioneering university, ISDA, in Linz. IDSA was founded in 2022 and its research and teaching are dedicated to all dimensions of digitization and its transformative effects on science, art, society and the economy. The university is based on interdisciplinarity and inter-university cooperation and its principle is to attract students interested in the interaction of technical studies, natural sciences, economics, law, social sciences, humanities, cultural studies and artistic disciplines.

Within the framework of the IDSA x Ars Electronica FOUNDING LAB, students and professionals from various fields will have the opportunity to collaborate to question, discuss and shape the impact of digital transformation on the future of nature, technology and people. The activities are divided into FOUNDING LAB Summer School (aimed at undergraduates and will run face-to-face for 3 weeks) and FOUNDING LAB Fall Term (aimed at an advanced audience, as well as master's and doctoral students, and will run on a hybrid basis for four months). The program opens on September 6th in Linz, Austria, with the Founding Lab Forum .
