Created in 2016, Braga International Video Dance Festival (BIVDF) has established as a platform for innovative interdisciplinary works that deconstruct the boundaries of traditional performance.

The 8th edition of the festival takes place on April 13 at gnration, with support of Arte Total, to promote the dissemination, learning and development of short choreographic artistic works. Participants will have to use Video Dance as a way of expression, proposing a reflection on the concepts of "performance" and "performativity".

The 2024 judging panel includes the founder and artistic director of Arte Total and Braga International Video Dance Festival, Cristina Mendanha; the Spanish artist and performer, Mercedes Quijada; and Pedro Emes Nogueira, a Portuguese director, creative director and audiovisual producer. The works will be evaluated in two main categories: Video Dance and Short Video Dance, awarded for Best Video Dance, Best Short Video Dance and Audience Choice.

Applications are open until February 29 and are aimed at national and international artists. Filmed audiovisual pieces are accepted, with original or re-enacted choreography and a maximum duration of 15 minutes.
