We find more and more examples in our daily lives of data conversion, that is, the transformation of quantitative information into sound. Newer cars, for example, have sensors that tell us when we are about to hit our front or back neighbor. But this technique can also help us alert the world around us of other important data we have at hand: droughts, floods, extinction of species (and many others!). This is what we will experience in this workshop: we will convert data and graphs into different types of sounds while learning about duration, intensity, timbre, and frequency.
