Try to perceive others, whether they are close or unknown, similar or very different from us is the first step for us to relate. In this process the objects are often vehicles of communication. They facilitate actions, invite participation and contribute for our approach to each other. Starting from an investigation whose focus is communication with people living with dementia, in this workshop we will explore other contexts and apply different strategies that design can use to create user-friendly objects such as the development of empathy, the participatory methodologies and personalization.
