In this training session, a digital application will be created that allows you to trigger videos and/or sounds through hand gestures. Based on this application we will discuss some principles about artificial intelligence, the Open Sound Control communication protocol, and how artists and educators can use it in their practice, in addition to the disclosure and explanation of free and accessible tools that are available on the Internet today.

      Filipe Lopes (Ph.D.) is an Adjunct Professor at the School of Media Arts and Design (ESMAD) of the Instituto Politécnico Porto (P. Porto), a researcher at the Research Center for Psychology of Music and Music Education (CIPEM), and a researcher at the Research Unit in Media Arts and Design (uniMAD). He is a composer and performer with strong affinities with electronic music and interactive digital systems, having received several commissions throughout his career. He has composed music for multimedia installations, cinema, theater and performances, and has  and extensive body of work that combines music pedagogy and digital technologies. Currently, he is dedicated to investigating the relationship between music and plants, the relationship between reverberation and musical performance, and the role of musicality in teaching sound for cinema.
