Since 2015, Laboratórios de Verão has established a prominent position in supporting artistic creation in the Braga district. Over the course of ten editions, this programme has supported more than three dozen projects and half a hundred artists. With an emphasis on the fields of image, sound, performance, interactivity, music, dance or the intersection between these areas, the Summer Laboratories take on an artistic residency format with a view to experimenting with new ideas and works for subsequent public presentation.

Following the open call launched at the beginning of the year, the 11th edition of Laboratórios de Verão embraces four new proposals, signed by sound artist Mariana Sardon; visual artist, researcher and writer Catarina Braga; multidisciplinary artist Renato Cruz Santos; and visual artist and composer Dora Vieira.
