OPEN CALL: Slash Transition is looking for five artists from five countries for a residency in Nantes, France
The programme Slash is promoting the new chapter of Slash Transition project and is searching for 5 new sound/music artists from Austria, France, Georgia, Portugal and Tunisia to join a unique program including training, residency and a final European convention. The open call runs until 31 May.

Led by the cultural space Trempo (Nantes, France), Slash is a sound platform that brings together partners across Europe (and beyond), including cultural centres, universities, municipalities, festivals, radio stations, etc. Since 2016, this platform has been carrying out projects in the field of music, such as the Slash - EMI (European Music Incubator), the Slash Programme and, most recently, Slash Transition, an experimental project that emerges as a space to explore the role of sound artists in areas in transition.
Renewed for a second edition, Slash Transition is promoting an open call to select five sound artists based in France, Austria, Georgia, Portugal and Tunisia - one from each country - offering them the opportunity to take part in:
• a ten-day training programme in Nantes (France) to delve into the concept of transition and how to integrate it into their artistic practice (Dec 2025).
• a residency of at least three weeks during the first half of 2026 to explore themes related to music and transition. The artists will be paid for their participation in the programme and will receive a production budget dedicated to the residency.
• a final project convention to be held in Lisbon (Portugal) in October 2026, where the results of the work developed during the residency will be exhibited.
The call is open until 31 May and applications can be made directly on the Slash project website.
