Held annually between Germany and Italy, the Bright Festival is an international cultural project that promotes digital creativity through artistic exhibitions and educational programmes. Over the last editions, the initiative has welcomed over 35,000 visitors and featured more than 200 artists and speakers, 150 artworks and performances, and over 400 hours of training with international experts.

This year, the festival promotes the open call “New Media Art Projects” and invites artists or collectives working with light, sound, digital and interactive installations, immersive art, artificial intelligence (AI), virtual reality (VR), and audiovisual performances to submit original and innovative projects to be part of the new edition of the festival, taking place between October 9 and 12 in Leipzig (Germany). Projects presented in other artistic contexts will also be considered.

The three selected projects will receive a grant (a fixed amount, to be defined according to the logistics of the project) which includes accommodation and travel expenses, technical support and production costs. All the projects will also receive personalized promotional and advertising packages, access to networking events and the Bright Pro platform, three VIP passes to festival activities, and food and beverage kits.

To submit an application, artists must fill the application form, send two or three photographs of the installation (high definition) in JPEG or PNG format, a PDF document with a detailed description of the project, and a portrait photograph of the artist (minimum 1 MB).

The open call runs until June 15. Learn more about the open call, the festival, or the caracteristics of the venues that will host the event at www.brightfestival.com.
