The Digital Deal Podcast #12: Making Kin Cells, Software, Synthetic Selves, with Charlotte Jarvis, Zoran Srdić Janežič and Rick Dolphijn
“Making Kin Cells, Software, Synthetic Selves” is the title of the discussion that brings together the opinions of Charlotte Jarvis, Zoran Srdić Janežič, and Rick Dolphijn in the 12th and final episode of The Digital Deal Podcast.

The subtle way the technological universe appropriates human processes, adapting and transforming them into synthetic materials, causes changes in social paradigms without we realizing it.
Based on this encounter between biological components and computer systems, Ana-Maria Carabelea invites British artist Charlotte Jarvis, Slovenian artist Zoran Srdić Janežič, and writer, educator and curator Rick Dolphijn for a final episode that evokes a reflection on how the intersection of the terms wetware, software and hardware challenges our perspectives on life, reproduction, parenthood and personal care.
Created in 2023 by the European Digital Deal - a project co-funded by the Creative Europe programme and coordinated by Ars Electronica - and hosted by producer Ana-Maria Carabelea, the podcast has become a space for thought and discussion, sharing the perspectives of artists, cultural critics and artificial intelligence professionals on the expansion of physical borders into the digital space. From June of this year, the series of conversations will renew its presentation and continues under a new name: Art Is Not A Thing.
All episodes of the podcast are available on the Ars Electronica website and on streaming platforms (Apple Podcast, Spotify, etc.).
