The alleged inevitability of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and its apparently bleak consequences seem to be passively accepted by most people. However, there are a number of theorists, activists and artists who, in a patient, informed and determined way, are demystifying this fatality, exposing the mechanisms that fuel it, revealing paradoxes and offering alternative visions, interpretations and attitudes.

To debate about these issues, gnration presents a new cycle of online talks 'AI Cultural Sabotage'. Curated by Alessandro Ludovico - researcher, artist and founding editor of Neural, a magazine focused on media arts, electronic music and digital hacker activism - the initiative invites these experts and dissidents to reflect on the vast current of Artificial Intelligence.

In the premiere of this new talks, academics Kate Crawford and Vladan Joler come together to explore the intricacies of artificial intelligence and technology and reveal how their advances impact the construction of society.

The first episode of 'AI Cultural Sabotage' is launched on 14 May at 9 p.m. and can be watched for free on gnration's Youtube channel. Learn more about the cycle at gnration.pt.
