Escola de Desenho Inconvencional
Drawing is a primary form of expression. Children use it to represent their world and their emotions. As an artistic language, drawing has the ability to transport us to imaginary worlds or to document the real.
Escola de Desenho Inconvencional challenges children (but mostly adults) to forget everything we think we know about (good) drawing. Through the intersection with botany, the goal is to create an illustrated field diary, answering challenges about looking, listening and feeling.

In this session, in collaboration with visual artist Ana Vala, we will explore the invisible life of plants. Just like all other living beings, plants are sensitive to stimuli outside themselves. Through the manipulation of optical and sound devices, capable of visually translating the frequencies emitted by plants, we will discover and record, using photosensitive media, the forms that are created in our interaction with these living beings.
