BMA lab: TouchDesigner for interactive installations by Markus Heckmann
TouchDesigner is software for creating and programming generative visual art in real-time. This workshop will introduce the elements needed to use the software as a tool for interactive installations. In addition to video playback and image-based effects, 2D/3D generative and rendering, interfacing with external input and output devices and investigating various protocols to enable control of an installation will be covered.
Note: Masterclass in English.
Participants should accompany themselves with their laptop computer with the TouchDesigner software installed and a three-button mouse.

Markus Heckmann is technical director of Derivative, the company that created TouchDesigner. Besides producing performances and visual installations for artists such as Carsten Nicolai, Matt & Mark Thibideau, France Jobin, Plastikman and Alva Noto, he develops the TouchDesigner program and actively promotes it in festivals, conferences, and institutions all over the world.
