      Gil Teixeira

Gil Teixeira is a prolific artist and educator who “sees” in sound the unifying nucleus of his many practices. In its projects with communities, it tries to put into practice the mantra "Who is here, is in the band", regardless of the position of its employees in the age, academic, social, or economic spectrum. Born in Barcelos, he dedicated himself to the study, performance and teaching of classical guitar. He was part of the band “The Astonishing Urbana Fall”, which later gave rise to “La La La Ressonance”. He has the Musical Animators Training Course at Casa da Música do Porto, which led him to lead or collaborate in different projects of this Educational Service, namely in the Ala dos Afinados (choir formed at the Prisão de Custóias), at the Som da Rua Orchestra and at the Choir of São Tomé. In the context of the Masters in Music Leadership at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama, he created CEEMI, a virtual band that “lives” on a WiFi signal and which anyone can be part of regardless of their musical background.
