Japanese artist Ikue Morri is one of the most respected names in contemporary music. In the 70's she moved to New York and started playing drums in DNA, a seminal band in the no wave genre that also included the guitarist Arto Lindsay. Active since then in the experimental New York scene, she has extended her work to drum machines and computers, also creating visual works. Ikue has collaborated with such names as John Zorn, Fred Frith, Evan Parker, and Zeena Parkins, touring the four corners of the world. In this masterclass, the self-taught artist will show her practice through the unconventional instruments she uses, sharing the knowledge and experience she has acquired over decades of work.
