gnration, an essential space in Braga in the joint work between art and technology, presents next Wednesday (May 8) the audiovisual show "Falaises", composed by the sound artists Alexis Langevin-Tétrault and Guillaume Côté, and the visual artist Dave Gagnon. This concert, integrated in the cycle of performances 'Binário', has revealed the effort that gnration has dedicated to a new artistic component, in close connection with the disciplines of media arts in this creative city of UNESCO.

BINÁRIO
The cycle 'Binário' presents some of the most exciting audiovisual performances that can be seen today in Portugal. The innovative cross between sound, light and image is the common denominator of a series of shows to be presented during 2019.

FALAISES
Using direct electroacoustic tools to develop a unique language, sound artists Alexis Langevin-Tétrault and Guillaume Côté base their discourse on the dichotomy between noise and tonality in a structured but living musical form, at the limits of noise and ambient music. The performance is both defined by the use of fixed and improvised sounds by the addition of modular synthesizers modified in real time.

The performance is supported by the visuals of digital artist Dave Gagnon. By recovering the various sound signals, he disturbs and modifies his interventions in real time - moire, shading, anomalies - creating a synergy between the art forms through displaying a graphical and luminous return of the audio content. The visual is displayed on a unique multi-media device featuring reflective boxes designed specifically for this project; standing halfway between installation and live video.
