“UNA is an experience in total immersion. In Nuve, performed by Né Barros in 2010, the relationship between the choreographic body and its artificial double was explored, in the space-time, where it projected and extended in an intimate relationship with the virtual. In Co:Lateral (2016-2019), the immaterial space expanded, the image became closer to the public, and between the bustling body and the audience, transparent, mixed, embodied realities were presented. Co:Lateral has been performed on several stages in recent years, and its research has been thought of in several international conferences. In an admittedly experimental approach and even more installation/performance perspective, Co:Lapse was born. UNA is a possible continuation of this immateriality, this time, in total immersion, where the audience (one spectator at a time) witnesses the body in movement, again, expanding. Ten years after Nuve, one goes back to testing, to the laboratory, transforms and questions the performative and embodied space, where the spectator is one, is not in the audience, but in the center, in a a space that does not exist, and where different understandings of the performative body are reflected”.

With artistic direction and performance by Né Barros and João Martinho Moura in media arts, “UNA” is a Balleteatro production that has a partnership in the investigation of CITAR / Escola das Artes UCP.

Since 2009, João Martinho Moura is a guest media artist at Balleteatro, Porto, collaborating with choreographer Né Barros.

The artist develops his research in the areas of digital art, interfaces, visualization, digital music and computational aesthetics. Winner of the National Multimedia Art and Culture Award in 2013, he is the author of several pieces and publications in media arts, having already shown his work in more than 15 countries.
