The first session will allow us to think about the relationship between art, science and technology and the role of error in the context of artistic and technological processes, through two round tables; inaugurate a new work in the Scale Travels series, by the German Marcel Weber (MFO) and present an audiovisual show by the Canadians Push 1 Stop & Wiklow.

Roundtable # 1 - Art, technology and science: new paths and the production of value with Marcel Weber (artist), Jana Nieder (scientist) and João Ribas (curator), moderated by Fernando José Pereira (artist and teacher) What unites and what separates these three concepts? This panel aims to discuss potential new paths for the longstanding relationship between art, technology and science, as well as to reflect on how artists and scientists can derive mutual benefits from joint processes, despite being linked to substantially different contexts. The issue will be discussed from the perspective of artists, curators and a scientist.

Roundtable # 2 - The error in the context of technological and creative processes with Elie Blanchard (artist), Salomé Lamas (filmmaker) and Karin Ohkebschager (curator), moderated by Miguel Carvalhais (artist and teacher) The inaugural edition of the index was marked by an episode in which a technological error prevented the performance of a show. this same error now serves as a starting point for a discussion of the error in the context of artistic and technological processes. Disaster or opportunity for improvement? Accident or tool? The issue will be discussed from the perspective of artists and curators with different backgrounds.
